Xintong Zou: Xintong joined the Earth Modeling and Observation Lab as a PhD student in Earth Systems Science. Before pursuing her PhD, she worked as an urban and rural planner, specializing in land use change and geospatial analysis. She holds an M.S. in Physical Geography from the University of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and a B.S. in Geographic Science from Sun Yat-Sen University. Xintong seeks to deepen the understanding of spatial and temporal environmental changes by combining her expertise in planning and geospatial analysis with advanced remote sensing techniques and environmental modeling.

Feng Zhang: Visting Professor from the College of Ecology, Lanzhou Univeristy. Dr. Zhang’s research interests include: Monitoring atmospheric constituents (CO₂, CH₄, N₂O, water vapor, etc.) along with thermal dynamics using Eddy Covariance and chamber approaches; Developing the Paralleled biogeochemical model DeNitrification-DeComposition (PDNDC) with new processes and observed evidence; Using biogeochemical models and field experiments to quantify ecosystem services (GHG emissions, SOC, yield, etc.) to improve field management practices across various climate and soil conditions; and Integrating remote sensing products, meta-analysis datasets, and artificial intelligence with process-based model data fusion to diagnose the impacts of climate change and human activities on agricultural ecosystems.

Cailey Smith: Cailey is 4th year undergraduate student studying Geospatial & Environmental Informatics with a minor in Spanish. She hopes to pursue a Master’s degree in Geography eventually. She is most interested in working with the National Ocean and Atmospheric Administration in Coastal Zone Management and also has an interest in working overseas. I hope to use GIS and related fields as a tool to explore socio-environmental relationships.
